About

About this event

The 61st edition of the Valencia Book Fair once again hosts the collective exhibition of the Association of Valencian Illustration Professionals, APIV, now in its 19th year, with the participation of authors from the Malta Community of Illustrators. This edition places the Mediterranean at the center of the project, presenting it as a shared territory that has long encouraged cultural exchange among different peoples. The works in the show move from classical references to contemporary narratives, building a common visual world that crosses geographies and sensibilities. The collaboration with the Malta Community of Illustrators strengthens this approach and opens the exhibition to stories drawn from everyday life, fantasy, and the social realities that shape the region. Developed through an open call, the project highlights collaborative work and underscores both the international reach of illustration and the role of professional associations as spaces for support and visibility within the sector. The exhibition is supported by the AC/E Programme for the Internationalisation of Spanish Culture (PICE), which will make possible a visit from Ruth Ancillieri, representing MCOI, and Celine Portelli, from the National Book Council of Malta, both linked to the Malta Book Festival. The exhibition design was created by Santi Vicente (Memosesmas) together with NITUNIYO (Carlos Calatayud and Jesús Navarro), whose approach combines architecture, design, and graphic communication with particular attention to sustainable materials.
