The exhibition brings together a selection of works made over two decades, along with several pieces that have never been shown before. Taken as a whole, it offers a direct look at the artist’s relationship with painting: what it was, what it was not, and what remained unfinished. The artist describes it as a personal account of painting as a long, unrequited love, shaped by years of certainty that painting would be the way to engage with the world, followed by difficult experiences that eventually led to stopping altogether. He says he gave up painting about four years ago, after discarding many large canvases, while keeping others, including some unseen works. Rather than presenting a grand statement or a final conclusion, the exhibition opens a window onto this personal archive and shares it for a limited time.
