The Galeria del Tossal is hosting Même la mère, an exhibition by Angers-based artist Choun Vilayleck, presented as part of a collaboration between the City of Valencia and the French city of Angers. The show reflects the ongoing artistic exchange between the two cities. Vilayleck, trained at the School of Fine Arts in Angers, works with volume and drawing, and creates each sculpture from metal structures that he shapes by hand. The pieces cast shadows on the Islamic wall, creating a visual effect that suggests the movement of the sea. The title also plays on the French words for sea and mother, linking the idea of water with maternity as a source of life. The exhibition is on view at the municipal museum space in Plaza del Tossal until 3 May. Visiting hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
