Fundación Bancaja has presented the exhibition "Tàpies. Última década. 2002-2012" at its venue in Valencia. The monographic show is devoted to Antoni Tàpies, one of the most important artists of the 20th century and a leading international figure in informalism. It focuses on his late work from 2002 until his death in 2012 at the age of 88, bringing together a selection of especially representative works that distill the essence of his art during a less familiar period in a career spanning six decades. The exhibition traces how the ideas and forms that shaped his distinctive artistic identity remained present in the work he produced in his later years, when his painting became freer, more direct, and more refined.
