About
About this event
The Drawing Cabinet will soon open an exhibition of Enrique Veganzones’s latest work, developed during his recent residencies. The show brings together a substantial body of pieces that carefully explore geometric variations and combinations, along with layering and disintegration, on materials with strong physical presence such as oak boards, found notebook papers marked by time and history, and lead plates. Each work is titled with its place and date of creation, underscoring number and sequence and forming a precise chronology of the artist’s activity. Veganzones’s practice continues an experimental line associated with Elena Asins and Soledad Sevilla at the Computing Centre of the Complutense University of Madrid, though several decades later. Enrique Veganzones (Madrid, 1965) has recently completed residencies at The Albers Foundation in Bethany, USA (2025), Senegal (2022), Tbilisi, Georgia (2024), and Art House Holland in Leiden (2018). He has exhibited at Edurne and Art Nueve, as well as in other galleries in France and the Netherlands over the past 25 years, and has taken part in ARCO on two occasions.
