About
About this event
The exhibition offers an overview of Fallas dress from its earliest forms to its establishment as a key symbol of the festival. It is organized into five sections that trace the development of festive Valencian identity, the standardization of dress between the 1940s and 1950s, the growing presence of men in festival attire from the 1960s to the mid-1970s, and a later phase focused on recovering historical origins. The display also examines the evolution of accessories and details such as jewelry, sashes, women’s hairstyles, combs, and children’s clothing. In total, it brings together 19 complete outfits, including women’s, girls’, men’s, and boys’ garments, along with vests and bodices, period jewelry, combs, hairstyle recreations, and fallera sashes. The exhibition is completed by a selection of publications, archival photographs from L’ETNO, and additional images from private collections.
