About this event
The Palau de Cervelló is hosting the exhibition “A Life Among Books: Valencian Printing through Serrano Morales,” curated by Enrique Fink. The show traces key moments in the history of Valencian printing through its leading figures and a selection of works from the Serrano Morales Library, created from the donation of the noted bibliophile. Visitors can also see a working replica of Gutenberg’s press, together with a Minerva press and a composing stand, offering a direct look at traditional printing methods. The exhibition highlights José Enrique Serrano Morales, an erudite and book collector born in Algeciras in 1851 and later based in Valencia, whose Dictionary of Valencian Printers remains a reference work for the study of the city’s printing history. His large personal library was donated to the City of Valencia in 1908 and became the founding collection of the library that bears his name. The exhibition is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with last admission at 6:45 p.m., and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with last admission at 1:45 p.m.
