Ana Esteve Reig presents a solo exhibition made up of two video installations that examine virtuality and the time spent in front of screens. The title refers to the video game term “respawn,” which describes dying and reappearing in the game, an idea that runs through both works as a metaphor for digital experience. The exhibition includes Gamer Dreams, a video that moves through the physical spaces where multiple virtual stories unfold, and El ritual del respawn, a piece that places viewers inside gameplay as a group of friends reflects on life, death, fear and other themes drawn from their gaming experiences. Using audiovisual language, the artist turns personal narratives into shared and universal experiences. Ana Esteve Reig (Agres, 1986) is a visual artist and video artist whose work explores the relationship between technology, image and contemporary experience, with particular attention to virtuality, digital communities and the rituals that emerge around screens.
