About this event
On Saturday, May 23 at 12:00 p.m., the cultural space Filtre c e, part of Lanevera Ediciones, will open an exhibition by Valencian artist Luis Galbis. Trained in Fine Arts and holding a master’s degree in Design and Illustration from the Universitat Politècnica de València, Galbis also holds a qualification in Applied Arts to Sculpture from ESAD. His work moves between illustration, painting, and sculpture, often using unconventional materials such as collages made with flat-colored fabrics. He has worked as an illustrator for publishers including Llibres de la Drassana and Editorial Sendemà. In 2020, he opened Lanevera Gallery’s exhibition season with "Entre tu casa y la mía", and he later received the "València se ilustra" award, which led to a solo exhibition at La Rambleta. In 2023, he also created the graphic image for APIV. In "Motivos Recurrentes", Galbis focuses on the images, objects, and scenes that artists return to almost automatically during creative work. Repeated and reinterpreted, these elements gradually form a visual world that is both distinctive and recognizable. The exhibition reflects on how such recurring resources can act as a refuge against creative block, a mark of identity, and a way to build a personal narrative beyond what is directly depicted. It can be visited until Friday, June 28 at Filtre c e, Escultor Vicente Rodilla 7B left, in the Patraix district of València, Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
